If You Read This, Or You’ll Pay The Price!

January 11, 2011

Someone once told me that there is a price to pay if you want to make things better as well as a price to pay if you want to leave things the way they are.  Too often I here my friends and family, co workers say they hate  their jobs.  Too many times I lined up with them saying the same thing.  I’ve also complained about not having the time to spend with my family.  That I can never schedule enough time or money to travel with  my son so we can spend time with my Dad in Detroit.  My job is always in the way and it seems like I’m always missing something.  Well it is time for me to quit complaining and do something about it!

If you are in a job you hate, face the fact squarely and get it out.  There is no success in anything you do that you dislike.  You have a greater chance of  success when you take  pleasure in what you do.

For instance, if you enjoy parenthood?  You will most likely be a successful parent.  You enjoy being with your spouse, your most likely will have a successful marriage.  Folks, if what you’re doing right now isn’t working for you and you’re  not happy with it, do something about it!  Humans aren’t suppose to live in this type of torture.  Figure out what you want then ask yourself what it’s going to take to get to that moment.  Once you figure it out, change your behavior and get it done.  This article is not only for you but it is a reminder to me.

If you are sick of your situation, then find out what your Robitussin is and get well.  Get out of that job.  They’ll just reward you with a lay off anyway.  Okay I’m done preaching.  Remember this as I close.  Your only fulfilling someone else’s dream at the job until they don’t need you.  When that happens, you’re then excluded from fulfilling their dreams.  So what!  Start fulfilling yours.  Live and love life.

To your success!!!

Ask Me Why

March 8, 2010

Network Marketing is tough, challenging and most of all extremely fun.  So many people come into the business but never succeed.  they let a few no’s from family and friends stop them from fulfilling their dreams of financial freedom or what other goals they might have.

You need a strong why to make it in this business.  Man!  Your why has got to make you cry!!  I meant to break the english to make my point.  When you don’t feel like making those calls, go to your why.  When people come at you with the constant bombardment of negativity, go to your why.   Oh and when someone gets MIA, go to your why!   If your reason for going through the constant struggles of building your home based business is stronger than your why, you will definitely make it through without quitting your business.

I can give you one word that best describe my reason for starting a home based business and that word is FREEDOM!   That’s right, this word is so powerful to me and it gives me chills every time I think about what it will be like to finally experience freedom.  Even though freedom is one word, it comes in several forms.   I want freedom of fulfilling someone else’s dream as an employee.  Freedom from missing my family in the evenings, holidays and weekends.  Free from the fear of a layoff.

I want to be free from being someone’s time.  I’m tired of punching in and out at a job.  I want to see my family and friends without worrying about how many vacation days I have.   My dad had a stroke (he is doing fine now) and  it tore my heart when I realize that I do not have the money or vacation time to see him.   That day my why got stronger.

Now let’s get into the money.  In order for me to have the previous freedoms, I need to have financial freedom.  If I had another income source, I wouldn’t have to worry about taking vacations, I can just go and see a sick loved one and spend as long as I want with that person.  I can put money into college for my son and invest more of my money.  I don’t have to worry about the politics of the current healthcare debate because I would be able to afford my own.

Home business owners old and new, I strongly demand that you write a strong why.  When you do, publish it, blog it, post it in your office and your refrigerator.  Read it everyday so you will be reminded of what you need to do to get through your challenges.  Because there will be challenges.  Nothing comes easy.  I don’t care if you hear that at a local business opportunity meeting or webinar, it is not going to be  easy.  So get out there and arm yourself with your why and build your business.

Let’s Show Some Intergrity

November 12, 2009

I have something to share with you quickly……

We all know about the state of our economy right now.  Even though Wall Street seems to be doing well with record highs, we are still dealing with a double digit unemployment percentage.  People all across America are still loosing their jobs.  I personally have dealt with a lay off and several friends and family members of mine have been faced with unemployment as well.

One particular family member of mine has been looking for full-time employment for months now.  I will not mention the person’s name just for anonymity sake.  I’m going to call her Alicia.  She mentioned to me that  she was out somewhere and she struck up a conversation with a person and she mentioned that she was seeking employment.  The person Alicia was talking to, told her that she would like to talk to her about possible employment.  She then  arranged an interview date with Alicia.  She was so excited the day of the interview.

When she met this person at her office, it turned out that it wasn’t an interview at all.  The lady began to talk to Alicia about her business opportunity.  She started her regular MLM pitch and my family member was not happy about it.  She was polite with her but kindly let her down and told her that she wasn’t interested.  Alicia was so disappointed to have been deceived in such a way.  She mentioned that if she was going to start a MLM business, she would have just contact me about mine.  But she was not ready to go that route as of yet.

At that moment in her life she needed a job where she can exchange hours for dollars.  Our business doesn’t guarantee money right away.  She was in survival mode and was not in the situation to start a business.  I brought this up because we need to be better than this.  This is the reason why some people have negative views of  Network Marketers and our industry because we get so desperate to get bodies into our organization, we are willing to say and do anything to make it happen.  This experience might have scarred or sour Alicia from ever starting a MLM business because she probably feels that she have to  use the same deceptive tactics.

My fellow networkers, be honest when you approach someone about your opportunity.  Don’t disguise it as a job opportunity when it is not.  This is just not the way to run your business.  I know times get hard but we must show some integrity when we are out there growing our business.

I will not mention the company this lady was with, but I bet if she practice another way to market her business, she would not have to chase anyone like she chased Alicia.  If she wasn’t stuck only on the old school way of getting leads and prospects into her business opportunity, she would never approached my family member with such deception.  Now what would happen if she followed a system where she would  not have to chase people around, but have people come to her with credit card in hand ready to join her business opportunity?  I don’t know, I don’t want to take those desperate measures just to get someone to take a look at my opportunity.   I hope one day she will learn all about Attraction Marketing.  I hope all Network Marketers do the same.

Well I had to get that out.  It was on my mind.  I had to share it with you.

Much success !!!!

What is Your Benefit in Your Network Marketing Business?

October 22, 2009

I was forced to figure this out quickly when I encountered a skeptic at a friend’s social event.  I was having a conversation with several people and one lady mentioned that she was in network marketing. I was excited and I told her how much fun I was having in this industry.  We were discussing the many challenges and the wonderful learning experiences.

The gentleman who was with us, mentioned that I was nothing but a sales rep with no vacation or benefits.  I smiled at him as I was trying to come up with something to say.  That comment needed an immediate response and I had to dig deep into my heart so my response could be real.

My response was short but I’m now going to expound on what I said to provide a better understanding.

As an employee, we earn money by exchanging hours for dollars.  Sure, they give you some time for vacation and sick leave as well as health benefits.  The average person usually receives a total of 80 hours a year for vacation, if you’re lucky.  But what happens when you run out of your vacation or sick leave?  Do you think you will get paid after you use them up?  If you or anyone in your family gets sick, do you think the job will keep you around if you have to leave for an extended period of time?  You know the answer to that question.  No.  No, and no!   You will not get paid!

Now, there are a lot of people who decided to go and start a business for themselves.  They were tired of that employee/employer rat race and decided to control their own destiny, with the chance of having unlimited income.  Making the decision to have something of your own is a first step to becoming an entrepreneur.  But you know, there is still a disadvantage to this endeavor. Being the only person working your business is a huge disadvantage, because, if there is an illness or some other event happens, and you need to take some time off,  your business will stall.  There is no one else to run your business.  You’re just a self-employer.

Now, in network marketing, if you work hard on the front end, you will find yourself in a position to have your business make money if an illness or some other life event occurs.  I believe Robert Kyosaki calls it passive income.  If you bring in a certain amount of key business partners and they duplicate you by bringing in partners and promoting and selling their services, you will find yourself in an extraordinary position.  You will eventually make enough money where you can afford to take off as long as you like.  You can take care of a loved one in your family if they get sick.  Your kids are sick and you need to take a week off to look after them?  You don’t have to stress about begging your manager to take some time off.  Successful network marketing provides what is known as residual income, making money while you are sleep!

In a traditional business, if you want to make money passively, you have to stop being a self-employer by bringing people into your business so they can perform certain duties to grow your company.  In network marketing, you have to bring in business partners and help them duplicate what has proven to be successful in your compnay.  Now, if you do this, you don’t have to worry about vacation time.  You can take a vacation whenever you want.  You don’t have to worry about taking some time off while you are sick and you can afford to purchase your own insurance.

I acknowledge to the gentleman that I do not have vacation or sick leave as an Independent Rep and yes, I do not have the nice employee benefits.  I have something that is far more valuable.  I have Leverage.  When people duplicate what I am doing and I show them how to grow there business, I am leveraging myself.  I am putting myself in the position to make passive income.  So if you ever run into a skeptic, make sure you  understand your benefits.  Never let anyone discourage you from obtaining your dream.

How To Choose The Right Home Based Business

October 11, 2009

Things look great for Wall Street this week.  According to  CNN Money, Stocks rallied Friday at the end of a strong week, with the Dow and S&P 500 hitting their highest levels in over a year as investors extended a seven-month rally.

The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) rose 78 points, or 0.8%. The S&P 500 (SPX) index gained 6 points, or 0.6% and the Nasdaq composite (COMP) climbed 15 points, or 0.7%.

The Dow gained in four of five sessions this week and the S&P 500 and Nasdaq gained in all five sessions, as investors dove back in after a two-week selloff.

Everything is great on Wall Street but not on Main Street.  People are still losing their homes and jobs.  Getting a new job is hard to find.  Here in North Carolina, Dell is closing their plant only after three years in the  state.  These set of event has forced many people to look for other means of getting income and that’s starting a business.  More specifically, a home based business.

But which home business should you choose?  Here are 5 tip in choosing a home based business.

1. Find something that you can believe in. It is so important to believe in your product. You do not want to do something “just for the money”. It will never last, and starting a home based buiness can be  challenging at times in all honesty, so you want your passion to see you through the challenge of the development stage.

2. Find a mentor that you can trust. Although you will be in business for yourself, you will not be working by yourself, but will be working with a team of people that ‘MUST’ have your best interest in mind. I’ve worked under good and poor leadership, and trust me, the poor leadership nearly killed my business. Find someone who will show you how to discover your passion and push you to maximize your potential. But also keep in mind that you must be self motivated as well.

3. Make sure that the compensation plan is worth your time and is tangible.
In every business meeting opportunity, you will have the “highly paid” testimonials of that someone in the company that is making all this money in a short period of time…..BIG DEAL!!! The reality is, how possible is it for you to really make that money yourself, based on your talent and your efforts? Find a company with a compensation plan that is worth your time…..if that money is just a few dollars here and there, you may get discouraged and quit, feeling like your spending more money than your earning. There are companies that aren’t that expensive to get involved with, and will pay a reasonable amount of money. You have to be realistic with how much money you want to make in comparison to how much effort your willing to put into it.

4. Be ready to work hard….Working from home can often be harder than working a job. The reason why is because your hours go way past the normal 40 hours a week and you arent’ getting paid every two weeks. You must also be disciplined with a daily agenda of “money producing activities” that will promote you to where you want to be financially. The downfall with network marketing companies is that most people rely on their upline to get them to their desired level of success. The truth of the matter is that it is all up to you. They may support you, encourage you and guide you but YOU must do all the work! At the end of the day, you can not place your future in anyone elses hands so be willing to be in control of your future and your work ethic.

This is my tidbit of wisdom that I felt is necessary to share as you seek a business. One last tip….

5. MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE WORKING WITH A MENTOR THAT CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO BUILD YOUR BUSINESS ONLINE!
- It’s obvious that using the internet to build your business is the most effective use of your time…..their really isn’t any other way to leverage yourself outside of it….need I say more.
